We offer employment for ACMG ski guides, and ski instructor jobs as well as a variety of guide jobs for those of you who may be planning a future and education in winter guiding. Our minimum required qualifications are listed below.

Ski guide job description
Typical Duties:
Vehicle inspections + completing driver logs
Driving 15 passenger vans with small trailers in the worst conditions imaginable
Coordinating hotel check in and loading/ unloading luggage from trailers
Managing restaurant reservations and daily logistics
Natural interpretation (teaching guests about their surroundings on the tour)
Guiding skiers and snowboarders of all abilities around ski resorts, on and off piste
Working in a tail guide role to help ACMG guides on backcountry ski tours (digging pits, touring, sweeping routes)
Arranging reservations for activities and shuttles as required
Cleaning the van and ensuring a comfortable experience
Reporting issues and how the tour went to manager (me!)
a typical day in a BC ski guide job position
Wake up by 7 am, inspect the van, and pick up the group around 8 am
Have breakfast in a local cafe (often some hustling around making sure guests are on track, picking up rentals and scarfing down a bagel and coffee in the meantime)
Driving to the mountain, picking up lift tickets and making a day plan with the group
Conducting an orientation and checking in with guests to ensure they are comfortable
Skiing with the group, selecting appropriate runs and organizing the group, lunch and afternoon ski
Organizing an après ski and driving back into town, making a plan for dinner, double checking reservations
Making dinner reservations for following days and heading out for dinner with the group
Having a soak in the hot tub and heading to bed, exhausted but happy to be skiing for work!
ski Guide employment required certifications/ skills
In order work as a ski/ snowboard guide with us we need you to have the following certifications and skills. You can apply for the ski guide job without these certifications in place, but we need to know your plan to get them in time for the job. The class 4 driver’s license is where a lot of really amazing candidates fall off, because it takes longer than you’d expect. The process is easy, and costs under $300 to get the license. We are here to help and point you in the right direction.
Required
BC Class 4 Unrestricted Driver’s License (Alberta and Ontario Class 4 or F work too, but BC is ideal)
Advanced Wilderness First Aid (80 hours is preferred)
Helpful
ACMG ski/ Snowboard Guide Certification and Membership
CAA Avalanche Operations Level 1 (Mandatory on backcountry ski tours)
CSIA or CASI Instructor Certification (not mandatory but helpful)
Prove that you have excellent people skills, strong communication skills, organization skills and are an honest, fun loving and friendly person.
We offer lots of support and training, but knowing the ski resorts around the Powder Highway and being a strong rider is very helpful.
Winter ski Guide employment/ compensation
We do our best to pay you as much as we can, and we do everything we can to help you move up and earn more. Guides typically move from senior guide to lead guide within a season, and as soon as we have seen what we need from them to move up. Below is roughly what to expect from our compensation package:
Junior ski Guide job
A strong applicant who does not have the right certifications, but who we can offer some work to, filling in for other guides, moving equipment etc.
$120 per day
$50 travel reimbursement per tour to cover travel expenses
Senior ski Guide position
A guide who has the right certifications, we can trust to work without supervision, and has shown that they can do an excellent job with their day to day guiding role.
$150 per day
Bonuses for five star reviews
$50 travel reimbursement per tour to cover travel expenses
Top ups:
$10 per day for CAA Operations Level 1
$10 per day for CSGA Ski Guide Level 1, 2 or 3 (or CAA Level 1, or ACMG Assistant Ski Guide)
$10 per day for CSIA or CASi level 3 Instructor
Lead ski Guide job
An experienced guide who has extensively demonstrated high quality work, problem solving skills, and alignment with out best practices. Lead guides help train junior and senior guides, consistently earn excellent reviews, and can work on their own. It is our goal to have all our first season guides at this level before the end of the season.
$180 per day
Bonuses for five star reviews
